edit: its a flash file in a zip so you gotta hit download.
Description
this is an flash image viewer allowing for things like zooming out and panning and the like, as I see a lot of time someone posts a deviation and links to close ups seperately (as the high res image usually takes up loads of space)
but with this, you can set it up so your image is displayed the size you want it, and you can let people zoom in to see the details.
Things yet to be added:
Help files/tutorials
Dsiclaimers/credit etc:
Sunflower image is stock by ~zinux[link]
you can use this flash anywhere you want, mod it anyhow you want, but give me credit please okies
Temporary Help section:
first of all you need flash 8 to use this (I'll make an mx2004 version later ok )
to get started, open the file and look in the library, 'theImage' movie clip is the one you want to put your image, but make sure it is positioned so the top left of your image is at co-ordinates of 0,0.
you can then go back to the main timeline and alter the actions in the first frame of the code layer to suit you.
Apologies for this being confusing but I will be making a help file which is more aimed at people who arent so hot at flash in time, I just want to find out if its usable or not first, so you guys who can figure it out let me know ok
not sure, I've recompiled this and it works ine in FF3, though I have noticed that in my recent AS3 stuff, scroll wheel actions scroll the page even when the mouse is over the flash, I think its a plugin issue, can always email adobe and ask I guess?
if I set my document width (in publish settings) in pixels, and it is small enough so that a vertical scrollbar does not appear in firefox, it would work just fine.... but it wouldn't work if i set the document width/height to 100%

Love the sinner, hate the sin. Appreciate people for who they are.
Zooming and panning is really a nice concept that can be applied to images in Flash. I've used this idea of yours for my website [link] (used just the concept, not your code)
just wanted to say thanks for your awesome idea
keep up the good work

I apologize for this comment, but I haven't the time to look at the other comments at the moment to see if I'm repeating.
I love the idea of the flash viewer, Though it would be nice if there was a built in way for the image to be reset to its original display size!
I'll be seeing about trying to put it to good use~ Soon as I get back on the computer... sometime after I get Flash CS3 working and start playing with the help files~
