The big news of late in the emoticonner's (emoticists? emotisicers?) world is that the *EmoticonOpus has been res'd and here are the winners of the latest compo, with the theme 'Angel'

if you are into emotes (or want to get into them) you should totally be devwatching :emoticonopus: its a great way to flex your skills and the competition is a good push

In other news, I have seen only the one trailer but the Sherlock holmes movie is looking so awesome I could cry. plus for the first time ever I can forsee watson actually saying 'no shit sherlock' that would be sweet.

and in other other news, is it bad I'm thinking of maybe using mspaint as the primary texturing tool in a game I plan to sell, for like... actual money?

Using MSPaint for texturing isn't a bad thing as long as you're going for the flat shaded look. You're going to spend a lot of time working on things like metal/skin/etc textures in MSPaint than you would in say, Photoshop, though.

depends on what you mean by quality, sure stuff wont be anti aliased, but I think it will suit the visual style I'm going for and stand out (hopefully)
